MMA: Chael Sonnen Responds to Anderson Silva; Rips Bisping, Mayhem Miller

Did you really think Chael Sonnen was going to take his time in responding to Anderson Silva’s comments that he was a “loser Not only as training partner, but in life in general.

Sonnen did respond, via his Twitter, which he rarely uses, early last evening, and again early this morning.

Uncle Chael initially tweeted:

"Oh Please. Andy is supposed to be a jiu jitsu demigod, yet he lacked the stones to get on the ground and cuddle with Thales Leites... He hasn't put up a fight since Forrest Griffin, which is about as notable as getting your hand held by a stripper. NEXT."

Typical Chael Sonnen. Many will find this tweet hilarious, while others will find it incredibly outlandish and stupid.

Sonnen has since removed the comment about Leites, and the tweet now begins with the phrase “He hasn’t…”

The Team Quest standout was clearly looking for blood, though only after the reigning UFC middleweight champion took some shots at him for the first time in their 10-month feud.

Essentially, Sonnen said that the gloves were off, and he declared war on Silva by posting his initial tweet (2 AM ET):

"It's hard to respond to Anderson. He's so effeminate, that nothing you can say to/about him could be worse than what God already dished out.”

This isn’t the first time that Silva has had his masculinity questioned by Sonnen, but it's without a doubt the stiffest shot yet.

While it will be interesting to see if Silva decides to fully commit himself to this war of words with Sonnen, Uncle Chael has also called out the coaches of season 14 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”

On May 22, after Michael Bisping and Jason “Mayhem” Miller had been announced as the coaches, Sonnen commented:

“It's for the best. After I got through with Bisping the only person that would ask for his signature is FedEx.”

Don’t think for a second that Mayhem Miller was lucky enough to escape the verbal wrath of Sonnen. On May 28, Sonnen again took to Twitter:

“Comment on Mayhem how? In terms of his coaching contract, or generally not being worth the gas that brings his $.50 hair dye from China?”

Sonnen later added: “I buy a couple on "The Bachelor" before I buy Miller as a Coach. Ten bucks says that he brings Bisping a rose on the season finale.”

The next day, May 29, Sonnen let fans know that he has low expectations for the next season of TUF. How subtle do you think he was about that?

“Viewers: Prepare for the first season of TUF where both coaches speak English, and the show still needs subtitles.”

At least a little surprisingly, “The Count” decided to take the high road and has not responded to Sonnen’s comments.

Bisping, though, is not regularly active on Twitter, so that may have something to do with it.

Whatever the case may be, Mayhem instead wasted no time in responding to the fellow loud-mouthed middleweight:

"hey @sonnench please speak when you become relevant again. I have an even bigger steaming pile to smash named @bisping."

For those not familiar with Twitter, whenever a user types and “@” symbol in front of a username, that Tweet appears on that user's account page.

Sonnen and Bisping are yet to respond to Miller’s call out, but this looks to be a very interesting situation to follow in upcoming weeks.
