Less than a month after securing his future with the world?s premier mixed martial arts promotion, Tony Ferguson will break in his fresh six-figure contract against Aaron Riley at UFC 135.
The company confirmed the welterweight showdown Monday evening via Twitter.
Ferguson bumped his professional record to 11-2 after putting Ramsey Nijem to sleep in the finals of ?The Ultimate Fighter 13.? Although ?El Cucuy? was last season?s most controversial contestant, he?s promised to show the world he is a completely different person than the man who irritated nearly everyone in the TUF house.
Riley, on the other hand, owns an extensive 30-12-1 resume, with 14 of his wins coming by way of submission. He was last seen taking unanimous decision win over Joe Brammer at UFC 114 in May 2010.
A light heavyweight title fight between champ Jon Jones and Quinton ?Rampage? Jackson is expected to headline the pay-per-view broadcast.
The show takes place September 24th inside the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
Here are the athletes rumored to perform in the extravaganza:
Ben Rothwell vs. Mark Hunt
Norifumi ?Kid? Yamamoto vs. Damacio Page
Nate Diaz vs. Takanori Gomi
Tony Ferguson vs. Aaron Riley
Travis Browne vs. Rob Broughton
Diego Sanchez vs. Matt Hughes
Quinton ?Rampage? Jackson vs. Jon Jones (UFC Light Heavyweight Champion)
