Nate Marquardt Weight Cut Video: Made 170 Pounds Without Problem

More information continues to pile in regarding Nate Marquardt's failed medical exam, but we now have video evidence that the problem was not with his health after a weight cut to 170 pounds.

As shown in this video provided by NBC Sports, Marquardt went to bed only slightly over and was able to get under the 171-pound weight limit for non-title fights on the day of the fight. Not only that, but he looked to be in great spirits and was smiling as he talked about the weight cut.

"Honestly, this cut doesn't really feel much harder, as far as the dehydration process, than my fights at 185," he maintained. "The diet part, obviously, was harder. But it's not the hardest thing I've ever done. So right now, we're just going to rest, relax, show up, make weight and then I get to eat!"

Judging by the part of the video that simply showed Marquardt in his preparation, everything seemed to be on track. But as we now know, something went wrong.

Marquardt himself will be a guest on The MMA Hour tomorrow, and B/R's Sean Smith will have the latest information regarding the situation immediately afterwards.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this news, as we now know that the weight cutting process itself was not the issue.
