Tough talking radio host Cowherd nearly soils himself when confronted by Lesnar

There's tough guys everywhere. Internet Tough Guys otherwise known as Keyboard Warriors. Now there's Twitter Tough Guys. In Las Vegas, my radio station ESPN1100 has Telephone Tough Guys on our text line.

Make no mistake about it, it's the media that sets the example for readers, listeners and viewers. The San Diego Union-Tribune's Don Norcoss put it nicely about many sports talk-radio ( and internet) hosts:

Talk-radio host. You're paid to gab about football, baseball and basketball. You can spew vitriol toward any athlete or general manager but never show your face in a clubhouse.

Throw in mixed martial arts, that's where ESPNRadio's Colin Cowherd comes in. Cowherd does an excellent show and understands that the phony contrarian take works wonders with most listeners. Cowherd's show is based in Bristol, Conn. and he rarely has to face the athletes he critiques. Aaron Rodgers, who was blasted all season long by Cowherd, took hold of the opportunity during a post-Super Bowl interview to bust Cowherd's chops.

Brock Lesnar went one step further when he was paraded around the ESPN campus and appeared on Michelle Beadle's SportsNation show. The 6-foot-4, 275 pound former UFC champ turned back the clock to his wrestling days and scared the daylights out of Cowherd.

‘Korean Zombie’ uses twister submission to beat Garcia at UFN 24

It wasn't the slugfest the first fight produced, but Chan Sung Jung more than made up for the lack of big strikes by beating Leonard Garcia with a unique submission. "The Korean Zombie" showed he can fight smart as well by landing a twister to finish Garcia with just one second left in the second round in the first televised bout at Ultimate Fight Night 24 on Spike.

"I've been watching Eddie Bravo videos on YouTube for a long time," Jung said through a translator. "I kept saying during practice at Korean Top Team that I'm going to do the twister in the UFC some day. Hopefully, I'll get the Submission of the Night."

Jung (11-3, 1-0 UFC) had Garcia's back late in the second when he decided to focus on one leg. He also got a hold of Garcia's head and cranked it back. The twister puts tremendous pressure on the spine. Garcia couldn't hold out, tapped and the fight was stopped by referee Dan Miragliotta at 4:59 of the second.

Garcia (15-7, 2-3 UFC) was headed down the wrong path from the opening seconds. He's built his reputation in the UFC and WEC by going for the broke. His striking is often reckless, but he does damage and scores with judges. He won the first throwdown with the Zombie at WEC 48, in a fight many thought Jung took by decision. Garcia repeated the feat his last time out against Nam Phan.

Garcia chose to go with a more controlled style and looked to counterstrike. He never got Jung's timing down. Garcia was the victim of a takedown in the first and ate some big shots on the ground.

In the second, he landed virtually nothing and went down again when the fighters connected on kicks at the same time. Jung jumped into top control with 1:11 left in the round. Jung softened him up with some big elbows. He threw Garcia's legs to the side and took his back with 33 seconds left.

Before this fight, Jung worked with Urijah Faber's camp, Team Alpha Male. He fought with a nice gameplan, beating Garcia in eveyr phase of the game.

Faber escapes against surprising Wineland at UFC 128

Eddie Wineland was supposed to be a nice showcase opportunity for Urijah Faber in his UFC debut. Instead, the 26-year-old made Faber work all 15 minutes. The former WEC featherweight champion, scored several takedowns in the final two rounds and was faster with his hands on the way to a unanimous decision victory, 29-28 on all three scorecards, at UFC 128 in Newark, N.J.

After the fight, Faber (25-4, 1-0 UFC) sent a message to UFC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz to get ready. Faber doesn't talk much trash but he's been very critical of Cruz, who he feels is way too cocky. They squared off in 2007 at 145 pounds. Faber scored a submission win with a guillotine choke at WEC 30.

Wineland (18-7, 0-1 UFC) was a lot tougher than most expected. He's big for the weight class and more than matched Faber in the clinch.

Faber's an excellent grappler with nasty takedowns, but he couldn't get Wineland off his feet in the opening round. Wineland used the clinch to avoid the whizzer attempts by Faber.

Faber began opening up on the feet in the second. There was a clear speed advantage. Holding his hands low, Faber was able to pick his spots. Wineland really offered very little back.

Jones on Jay Leno: The champ is a crime-fighter and a flirt

As was mentioned on Kirstie Alley's Twitter, Jon Jones made quite an impression on the actress before their appearance on "The Tonight Show." Once sitting next to Jay Leno, Jones said that Alley was hitting on him. He also detailed his crime-fighting adventures before he beat Mauricio "Shogun" Rua to win the light heavyweight championship at UFC 128.

It's early in his championship reign, but it's already fun having Jones as the champ. He's eager to show his personality and makes an excellent spokesman for MMA. Not to mention, he clearly made a new MMA fan in Alley.

(In an unrelated story, Junior Dos Santos later refers to himself as "a sleepy bitch.") The fighters come in howling like they just got selected for a spot onMr. Awesome. They're told that there will be no elimination fight to get into the house, which gets them even more psyched.Brock and Junior enter the room to a rousing ovation. The guys applaud Brock's list of credentials. Dana says that Junior "stepped aside from that title shot to come in here and teach you guys what he's got." Obviously, they're not going to mention Cain Velasquez's injury and how Junior really felt about his title shot getting delayed.

The 8 Weirdest Things MMA Fighters Believe

(No really, it's good for you. Pic: DLAnderson.com) It should come as no surprise that MMA fighters on the whole seem particularly susceptible to hokum and gimmickry. After all, in this sport everybody is looking for an edge. In an industry where your ability to keep up with the Joneses (pun totally intended) can be the difference between fighting in the Octagon in front of thousands of screaming fans and having a job where one of your main responsibilities is walking the girls to their cars at the end of the night, guys will do almost anything to stay on top. Everybody wants to be the first to discover the next big thing, that next little trick that?s going to push them to the win. In other words, MMA fighters will try anything once. Naturally, that leads to guys dabbling in some crazy shit. Does some of it really help them? Sure, probably. Is some of it just utter crap? Definitely. With that in mind, here are our choices for the eight strangest things some MMA fighters believe ?

Sadollah takes out Johnson at UFN 24

Amir Sadollah won the battle of two "The Ultimate Fighter" stars on Saturday night at Ultimate Fight Night 24. Sadollah forced DaMarques Johnson to submit due to strikes in the second round of their bout.

The fight started with an eventful first round. Johnson took advantage of an early slip by Sadollah to get in side control, but couldn't do much with it. Moments later, Johnson caught a kick to get another takedown. That time, he was able to land elbows while on the ground before Sadollah returned to his feet. Johnson threw Sadollah for another takedown before Sadollah reversed, and landed some serious strikes before the round ended.

In the second, the two had a furious exchange early, both landing strikes and coming out with bloody faces. But Sadollah took the upper hand halfway through the round. He got full mount and rained down blows onto Johnson's head. At first, Johnson was able to roll away, but Sadollah stayed close. He regained mount, took control of Johnson's hand and then blasted Johnson with elbows until the bout was stopped at 3:27.

"I am ecstatic with my performance," Sadollah said after the fight. "I'm here not just to look good. I want to be the best and fight the best."

Johnson took this fight on short notice after Duane Ludwig and James Wilks both pulled out because of injury. His record falls to 12-9. Sadollah, who has fought every one of his pro bouts in the UFC, is now 5-2.

Agitated Greg Jackson growing tired of the bashing in Evans-Jones beef

Rashad Evans is going to work in Florida and Jon Jones will be in Albuquerque. It's pretty much set in stone when, the light heavyweight teammates from Jackson's Submission Fighting, prep to meet some time later this year.

Jackson joined ProMMARadio to bring some clarity in the beef between the two fighters. Larry Pepe did a nice job of pushing the envelope in what clearly is a very sensitive situation for Jackson. The renowned trainer is generally cool as a cucumber, but got a little testy (3:00 mark).

"To be clear, I don't know how many more times I'm going to say it," Jackson told the dogged Pepe. "If Rashad Evans said to me ' Greg, absolutely I do not want Jon Jones on the team. No way.' Where in any of my 16-year history would I have been like 'the heck with that, I'm just going to bring him on the team anyway?' There's nothing about me that says that. I've never done that before. I've never done that since."

Jackson said repeatedly that Evans didn't make it clear from the beginning that he had a problem with Jones joining the team. He also told Ben Fowlkes that he did not agree with Jones' decision to take the fight against Evans.

As a result of all the drama, neither fighter will have the benefit of using Jackson's expertise for the fight. Jackson told Pepe he will not train Jones. That role will taken over by Mike Winkeljohn. Jackson won't corner either fighter on fight night.

If Evans ever chooses to return to Albuquerque to work with Jackson, the trainer said he has no bad feelings and he'd welcome him back with open arms.

Friends no more: Evans accepts immediate title shot against Jones

UFC president Dana White has long believed friendships can't get in the way of fighting goals.

Rashad Evans must agree. Just a few minutes after Jon Jones crushed Mauricio "Shogun" Rua to take the UFC light heavyweight title, Evans climbed into the Octagon and accepted the next shot at the young star.

The big issue? Generally, fighters from the same training camp, don't want to fight each other. Evans and Jones both work with trainer Greg Jackson in Albuquerque, NM.

When Evans was mentioned by UFC analyst Joe Rogan and then showed in the Octagon on the big screens around The Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., the crowd booed loudly.

That show of anger paled in comparison to the look on Jones' face. The introduction of Evans in the cage seemed to rain on Jones' parade a bit. He got just a few seconds to celebrate the culmination of years of hard work and then had to deal with the emotion of facing a training partner sometime later this year.

"We are teammates. I've sparred with him and he's sparred with me," Jones said as his voiced cracked. "This my dream and this is everything I believe in. And I know God wouldn't lead me this far, to leave me, so I gotta do exactly what I have to do."

Evans, nattily attired in a suit, walked to the microphone with a smirk on his face.

"I guess you should never say never," joked Evans.

Before UFC 128, with the possibility of Jones winning the title, Evans and his younger training partner agreed they wouldn't fight. That all changed in the last 10 days when Jones said he was tired of answering questions about Evans and suggested his training partner wasn't in his corner.

"[...] Rashad is not in my mind, he's not in my being, he has absolutely zero to do with my heart and who I am right now," Jones said during the UFC 128 prefight press conference. "[...] I have a lot of people outside of Rashad who I can draw energy and power from and they'll all be with me."

That opened the door for a fight in the future. Evans responded by saying Jones was being childish.

"That does sound a little bit cold-blooded. Jon's a young guy and when you're a young guy sometimes you talk a little too fast for your brain to keep up. I don't think it's acceptable at all. I don't think it's something I'd say.It sounds like he wants to fight, huh? Those sound like fighting words," Evans told Larry Pepe of Pro MMA Radio. ".[...] Sometimes when you open your mouth you show what you're afraid of more than anything. I don't know why he has such an adverse response like that to me. I've never challenged him or made him feel like he should do that sort of thing. It sounds to me ? if I was out of the situation ? that he was feeling insecure about me. You can't just expect to not talk about a situation where you stepped in for a friend and training partner in a title fight who was injured. You can't take it personal… That sounds like a baby."

Tonight, Evans confirmed the belt trumps the friendship.

"We train together and you got that strap, so I gotta go after it," Evans said as the crowd booed.

Evans was originally scheduled to fight Rua at UFC 128, but suffered a knee injury just before Jones' fight at UFC 126 in early February. The UFC, faced with no one elite to challenged Rua six weeks later, turned to the raw Jones. It sounds like Evans believes Jones cut in front of him. When Jones first joined the Jackson's camp, Evans was told a head-to-head fight would never be an issue. Things have changed.

Now the question is, who leaves the camp?

Jones only began training with Jackson in 2010. Evans is one of the camp's original high-level members dating back to 2005. In that Pepe interview before the fight, it sounded like Evans had already made up his mind and will be working with Grudge Training Center in Denver if he had to face Jones.

It sets up an intriguing matchup from a mental and physical standpoint.

Evans has to know the champ's game as well as anyone in the division. At 32 years old, he may also be better equipped to handle the emotional side of the fight. That said, Jones, 23, didn't look one bit nervous last night in the biggest fight of his life. Evans also has the gift of gab. He's got a real knack for getting under the skin of his opponents.

The completely confusing UFC lightweight title picture

Joe Silva is the UFC matchmaker, the man who is in charge of deciding fights, title shots and the like. He is also a man whose job I don't want, as it's his job to sort out the ridiculously confusing lightweight title picture.

Ready for the confusion? OK. Start with the fact that the title will already be tested on May 30. Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard have a rematch scheduled that should finally decide who is the better fighter among the two.

It's a title shot that was promised to WEC champ Anthony Pettis. Before Maynard and Edgar fought to a draw in January, Pettis was told that if he won the WEC belt in his last fight for the promotion, he would get a chance to unify the championships. A wrench was thrown into that plan because of the Edgar/Maynard draw, and now Pettis will fight Clay Guida in June for his first UFC bout.

And what of Jim Miller? He won his seventh straight bout on Saturday with a TKO of Kamal Shalorus. Four of those seven wins have been by stoppage. That resume reads like that of a title contender, but Miller has flown under the radar.

To make things even more confusing, consider what will happen if in the future, the UFC absorbs Strikeforce's roster of lightweights. Would Gilbert Melendez -- or whoever holds the belt at that point -- get an immediate title shot?

It's enough to make you dizzy. But if you had Joe Silva's job, how would you map out the UFC lightweight title? Does Pettis, Miller or someone else get a title shot next? Tell us in the comments or on Facebook.

The urine sample Thiago Silva submitted for testing prior to UFC 125 was "inconsistent with human urine," according to a complaint filed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Tuesday.

Buzz builds for guest Octagon Girl at Brazil event

With Ultimate Fight Night 24 in the books, it's time to concentrate on the important things in life - who will be the guest Octagon Girl in Brazil?

Cage Potato stumbled across this interesting candidate. For those who like images of the beaches in Rio de Janeiro and the skimpy bathing suits comes Juliana Salimeni.

She popped in a recent Sherdog photoshoot of the TUF 13 set in Las Vegas. Apparently, she's a pretty popular television personality in Brazil. The UFC may need a teeny-bit more fabric for the Octagon girl uniform shorts. As long as she stays away from the N.Y. Jets and Joy Behar, Ms. Salimeni (NSFW) should be fine. Let's root for her to make it to the August UFC event in Brazil.

Brock Lesnar Teaches Jimmy Fallon a Rear-Naked Choke

Words like "engaging" and "likable" haven't often been used to describe Brock Lesnar, but that's how he came across on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, where he talked up The Ultimate Fighter and his June fight with Junior dos Santos. Then Lesnar gave Fallon a one-on-one MMA lesson.

Brock Lesnar Teaches Jimmy Fallon a Rear-Naked Choke

Words like "engaging" and "likable" haven't often been used to describe Brock Lesnar, but that's how he came across on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, where he talked up The Ultimate Fighter and his June fight with Junior dos Santos. Then Lesnar gave Fallon a one-on-one MMA lesson.

Thiago Silva?s UFC 125 Drug Test ?Inconsistent with Human Urine?

Thiago SilvaUFC 125 winner Thiago Silva has been accused of submitting a drug test sample that was ?inconsistent with human urine? before his Jan. 1 win over Brandon Vera, NSAC executive director Keith Kizer confirmed to MMAFrenzy.com on Tuesday.

Silva is suspended until an April 7 hearing, where he faces a suspension, fine, and having the win overturned to a no contest.

Silva?s test forced him out of a meeting with Quinton ?Rampage? Jackson at UFC 130 in May and allowed Vera to return to the UFC after being released by the promotion following the loss.

White lukewarm on GSP-Silva, now calling it a ‘fantasy’ fight

Because things change quickly in the world of mixed martial arts, it's never smart to book a fight nine months in advance. The possibility of a Georges St. Pierre-Anderson Silva clash has gone from very likely six weeks ago to Dana White calling it a "fantasy" fight on Saturday.

Around UFC 126, the UFC president sounded pretty certain he'd finally be putting together the superfight between his welterweight and middleweight champions.

After UFC 128, it looks like the fight has been put on the backburner.

"This fight isn't happening," White said. "It's not a fight yet. It's still a big fantasy fight. There are still things that need to happen in the meantime before we sit down and discuss where this fight would be, what weight it would be at, how it would work. It's all just fantasy yet.

"I literally have not talked to Georges St-Pierre or Anderson Silva about this fight."

GSP echoed those sentiments when he spoke with Cagewriter two weeks ago.

"[...] It's a complete re-orientation of my career. People are saying crazy stuff: 'Oh, he just has to gain 30 pounds and take the fight and fight him in three months.' I can't get 30 pounds in three months. It would take a lot more than that, if I want to go up in weight class," said St. Pierre. "Plus, Silva fights at light heavyweight as well. So he walks around at … he's probably 40 pounds heavier than I am. So if I fight this fight, it might be at a catch weight. If it happens."

Now that the UFC has purchased Strikeforce, that's an even bigger if.

The UFC opened discussions with Strikeforce's former owners starting in December, but when White talked about the superfight possibility at UFC 126, he couldn't have known less than six weeks later, he'd have his pick of the Strikeforce welterweight and middleweight divisions.

Strikeforce's 170 class may not be deep, but it does have a guy in Nick Diaz, who should certainly get a shot at GSP, if the champ gets by Jake Shields at UFC 129 in late April.

The common thought is that Silva has cleaned out the middleweight division. That's utter nonsense. He's got plenty of intriguing fights at 185. Chael Sonnen deserves another shot and if Wanderlei Silva, can stay healthy and get some wins under his belt, that's a mega-fight as well. There's also Yushin Okami and what happens if Michael Bisping keeps piling up wins? The Strikeforce roster also has a few intriguing matchups for Silva led by Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza, Tim Kennedy and Dan Henderson.

Thiago Silva?s UFC 125 Pre-Fight Drug Test ?Inconsistent With Human Urine?

Thiago Silva Brandon Vera UFC 125 steroids (Not so fast, buddy: Silva's big win could cost him dearly. Photoprops: MMAGospel) Reports about Thiago Silva's sketchy UFC 125 drug test results have been swirling since last month, and were allegedly the cause for Silva's removal from a slated bout with Quinton Jackson at UFC 130, as well as Brandon Vera's sudden un-firing. And even though Silva's camp promised us that the light-heavyweight's drug test would come back normal, the Nevada State Athletic Commission is telling a different story today. As the NSAC confirmed with FightersOnly and MMAJunkie, Silva is being accused of supplying a urine sample that was not from a human source.

John Howard wants to fight Anthony Johnson regardless of venue

It?s not uncommon for fighters to express animosity towards one another through media as a means of promoting a bout or lobbying for an opportunity to face someone a step up divisionally in hopes of helping cement an eventual title-shot. However, in the case of UFC welterweights John Howard and Anthony Johnson the previous motivations seem to be playing a minimal role with genuine dislike actually taking to the forefront in their ongoing war of words.

Johnson recently kicked things off by labeling Howard as a ?pussy? in response to the 28-year old?s decision to pass on a match-up with him in early 2010 while citing an interest in building his name up in the Octagon before taking on higher-ranked opponents.

?Doomsday? addressed the situation in a conversation with MMAWeekly, explaining their ?beef? had become real based on Johnson?s insults while pointing out the use of the term ?cotton picker? as the final straw.

Howard made sure to point out the hypocrisy of ?Rumble? insinuating he was a coward for declining the earlier fight given the Georgia native?s performance last weekend against Dan Hardy at Fight Night 24. Johnson had promised to stand with Hardy the entire time before ultimately taking the intelligent approach and capitalizing on the Brit?s takedown defense through the majority of the bout.

?I?m not saying it wasn?t a smart strategy. Maybe it was, but don?t come up like, ?Oh, I?m going to stand and bang. I?m a hardcore motherfu*ker,? and then when push comes to shove, you take down and you go the (easy) way out. At least, when I fought Thiago (Alves), yes, Thiago beat me, but I stood and banged with a motherfu*ker.?

In summation, Howard made it clear he wants to get his hands on Johnson and doesn?t care if the tilt takes place in the UFC, a gym, backyard, or any specific arena ? he just wants to fight.

?I can?t stand that cat. I hate that kid. The feeling is mutual,? said Howard. ?It?s one of those fights where I don?t care about winning or losing. I just want to smash this dude. I think it?s better to (have it) happen in the UFC before it gets to the streets. That?s how bad it is between me and him. I don?t like this kid.?

Thiago Silva?s UFC 125 Drug Test ?Inconsistent With Human Urine?

Thiago Silva?s UFC 125 drug test is finally back. Early rumors suggested one of his samples was dirty and had to be retested, but it turns out that wasn?t the case at all. Instead, the NSAC revealed today that Silva?s urine samples were ?inconsistent with human urine.? MMA Junkie has the details:

Silva?s initial ?A? test was flagged, and further testing on the ?B? sample confirmed the original conclusion.

Urinalysis of Silva?s sample produced an ?invalid result? that was ?inconsistent with human urine,? according an NSAC complaint. The sample then was tested by the Sports Medicine Research and Testing Laboratory, which is accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency, and determined the same thing.

The report concludes that Silva ?submitted an adulterated and/or substituted specimen for testing for the urinalysis.?

Well, the standard tainted supplement defense definitely isn?t going to work with this one, and it?s probably safe to assume that Silva isn?t some sort of alien life form (although that would be f-ing awesome in this blogger?s opinion). If you?re thinking it was some kind of masking agent, it?s not that either according Keith Kizer. He told ESPN?s Josh Gross that they believe it was a synthetic urine specimen, which has led many people to speculate that Silva may have used a Whizzinator (fake penis designed to defeat drug tests) to deliver the fake urine. At this point, no one but Silva knows for sure, but hopefully he?ll tell us on April 7 when he scheduled to appear before the commission to explain himself.

In the meantime, Thiago Silva is under official suspension and Kevin Randleman can breath a sigh of relief that he?s no longer the only fighter to get caught for allegedly trying to pass off fake urine as his own.

TUF Talks: "The Ultimate Fighter" Season 13 Preview

Hello once more fans and friends and welcome to a special preview edition of ?TUF Talks?. For those of you who may not remember, ?TUF Talks? was the weekly rundown I gave on the then-current twelfth season of the popular UFC reality TV show ?The Ultimate Fighter?. I detailed all the important events of the show and even threw some commentary in. I?m happy to announce that ?TUF Talks? will be returning soon, as ?The Ultimate Fighter? Season 13 is about to get underway. For now, here?s a preview of what I?m looking forward to for TUF 13.

According to several different interviews, there won?t be a whole lot of interaction between Junior dos Santos and Brock Lesnar this season. I believe Lesnar himself said that he dealt with Santos for approximately forty minutes at the most. This is a far cry from venom-filled seasons that saw rivalries like Ken Shamrock vs. Tito Ortiz and Rashad Evans vs. Quinton Jackson. But I have to wonder: is that really such a bad thing?

I know that the coach-on-coach drama can sometimes deliver some of the most entertaining moments of the season, but was there ever any real sort of rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos? This may have something to do with the timing of the fight, with JDS originally expected to face Cain Velasquez. These two simply weren?t on each other?s radars, so a rivalry doesn?t seem likely to form. This may also have something to do with Lesnar?s self-professed penchant for ?going dark? and almost completely removing himself from of the public spotlight when he?s not fighting.

When you consider all of that, I?m actually glad that the coach-on-coach interaction was kept to a minimum, because I think any heated exchanges would have just felt forced. Better yet, this allows more time to focus on the heart and soul of this show: the cast of newcomers that want a shot in the UFC and will fight anyone to get it.

Speaking of fighting, it was revealed that the ?fight to get into the house? rule was abandoned this season. The news was revealed in a recently-released five-minute preview of TUF 13?s first episode. I have to say, I wish this rule was mandatory for every season. I think the ?fight to get into the house? rule is a great way to separate the cream of the crop and ensure that only the best fighters get into the TUF house.

I?m glad that this season focuses on Welterweight fighters, because 170 always has a lot of versatility, especially in the UFC. I?m looking forward to seeing submissions, knock outs, brawls, dominant wins, and epic three-round wars. Going by the official cast roster, everyone has pretty respectable records.

Overall, I?m really excited to see this season of ?The Ultimate Fighter?. I?ve gotten to a point where I?ll watch this show regardless, but still, I?ve been given plenty of reasons to sit down and tune in for the premiere episode. I can?t wait to see what kind of new drama unfolds, and I definitely want to see how both Junior dos Santos and Brock Lesnar adapt to being coaches. This could be a very exciting season of ?TUF?, and I?ll be happy to cover it week in and week out.

And that?s that, fans and friends! Look for ?TUF Talks? to make its official return shortly after TUF 13?s first episode, which is currently scheduled for tomorrow, March 30. And what about you? Anybody out there excited for the thirteenth season of TUF?

UFC News: Jon Jones vs. Rich Franklin? Franklin Wants to Fight Jones

There have a lot of names tossed out for Jon Jones to face, and he hasn't even defended his title one time yet.

But that hasn't stopped people from mentioning names like Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and even some have tossed out aging veteran Randy Couture.

But one name no one has thrown out there is former UFC middleweight champion, Rich "Ace" Franklin.

"The very first time I saw Jon Jones fight, I remember coming home and talking to my business partner at American Fighter and saying, 'This guy is going to be a stud,'" Franklin said in an interview with the Springfield News Sun. "I knew it right away. He's got an 84-inch reach, and he's 6'4''. It's just crazy."

Franklin has recently started fighting at light heavyweight and has lost his last fight against Forrest Griffin by unanimous decision at UFC 126.

Franklin won against legendary Chuck Liddell after filling in for Tito Ortiz at UFC 115. Franklin won by knockout.

But his age and ranking inside the light heavyweight division hasn't stopped Franklin from wanting to fight Jones.

"You see guys like that, and you're like, 'They're bigger than me, and they're stronger than me,' but I'm a fighter, and there's a part of me that still wants to fight them and see how I'd do," said Franklin.

If Franklin were to face Jones he would be facing a significant size disadvantage.

Franklin's reach is eight-and-a-half inches shorter than that of Jones (Franklin has a 76 inch reach) and is three inches shorter (6'1'').

Can't question Franklin's strength and love of competition though.
