UFC 130's 5 Moves Forward: "Rampage," Johnson, Story and Stann Winners

UFC 130 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas shuffled the contender decks this Memorial Day Weekend. Here are five moves that are shaping up and shaking up the UFC’s weight classes.

1) “Rampage” Next for Jon Jones for Real

The UFC knows the value of continuing Jon Jones' momentum relies heavily on who the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship defends his belt against first. If a fractured hand Jackson nursed while securing a clean, stock win against Matt Hamill Saturday night heals in time for him to fight Jon Jones next, he should be chosen over Lyoto Machida as the no. 1 contender more for his blockbuster appeal than his razor-thin decision against Machida last November at UFC 123.

Plans for the UFC's first showcase of Jon Jones the champion have changed nearly as much as the title has changed hands since Chuck Liddell's two-year reign over the division ended in 2007 (six). Rashad Evans’ August meeting scheduled with Phil Davis at UFC 133 hasn’t slowed talk of Evans-Jones although it’s ensured Evans is immediately unavailable. In addition to compelling beef with Jones, Evans holds a win over Jackson, who holds a win over Machida, who holds a win over Evans.

The consistent title changes and tough timing have disguised how healthy it is to have three former champions and a rising star wild card on deck to challenge the throne. The silver lining here is that of the last six 205-pound champions in the UFC, Jones and Jackson stand out currently as the most popular.

The UFC has the opportunity for a rare bout between a history-making 23-year-old champion in Jones and a foil of a veteran champion in Jackson. The window of opportunity for that bout is now because Jackson, 32, eyeing retirement at 35 suggests it will take big money fights to truly garner his big money performances.

2) Demetrious Johnson's Mighty Case for a Title Shot

“Mighty Mouse” Demetrious Johnson competed with former WEC Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres for every second of his captivating 15-minute SPIKE TV preliminary scrap with Miguel Torres. A Matt Hume protégé, Johnson has four consecutive victories including back-to-back against former champions in Torres and K-1 HERO’s 2005 Middleweight Grand Prix Champion Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto. The 24-year-old has exceeded expectations in an underdog role for his last three bouts. With 135-pounds hosting it’s first UFC main event at UFC 132 in July between champion Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber, Johnson is the perfect uncelebrated but serious challenger for a champion riding the biggest win of his career and looking to further establish themselves via real opposition.

For Torres, coming off a well-played contest, Yamamoto is a fight that contains intrigue stemming back to their time being internationally acclaimed outside of the UFC.

3) Brian Stann's Flagship Fight

Brian Stann disposed of Sengoku Middleweight Champion Jorge Santiago in their Fight of the Night honored contest 31 seconds shy of the second round’s end. “All-American” displayed marked improvement in the facet of his game already considered his strength—his striking. His looks standing left Santiago confused and eventually broken, signaling Stann is a fighter capable of outclassing top-10 opponents.

The Marine’s marketability surely will fast track him to a title shot; however, Anderson Silva’s unparalleled reign leaves the former WEC Light Heavyweight Champion with few opponents that can advance Stann’s contender position while he continues evolving as a fighter ready for someone of Silva’s caliber. Stann will be happy to report for regularly duty but he should compete in a title eliminator bout opposite Wanderlei Silva, Mark Munoz or Michael Bisping, whichever fighter emerges from their contender bouts with Chris Leben, Demian Maia and Jason Miller respectively with the most momentum.

For Santiago, he endured the worst outcome possible in his UFC return, but the resilient Brazilian would benefit from mixing it up with another hard luck, solid middleweight in Dan Miller.

4) Getting Rick Story Straight

A sturdy chin and poise to fire punches back in the face of adversity Rick Story demonstrated versus Thiago Alves coupled with a six-fight win streak undoubtedly places the Brave Legion rep in contender talks. The 26-year-old passed a significant wrestling test against Johny Hendricks and now a striking test versus Alves. If he can neutralize the submission grappling of Jake Shields, another former title challenger to Georges St. Pierre's UFC Welterweight Championship, Story could solidify he’s ready for the no. 1 contender spot.

Story has been bold in calling his shots at welterweight. That attitude is welcome when it’s from confidence in skills instead of confidence in an ability to sell a fight, which is why Rick Story is a “Horror” for other contenders and a dream for fans.

For Alves, the loser of Chris Lytle-Dan Hardy would stand well against his muay Thai.

5) UFC Heavyweights Could Use Strikeforce Bump

Frank Mir pushed around and beat up Roy Nelson to a decision in co-main event action, while Travis Browne scored the Knockout of the Night with a thrilling and unique superman punch KO versus Stefan Struve in round one. The winning heavyweights are at two entirely different junctures in their UFC career yet they have one thing in common: their best fights are in Strikeforce.

Mir likely concludes his trilogy with Brock Lesnar next when Lesnar recovers from diverticulitis. Facing the biggest star in MMA is a lucrative plus; however, defeat could irrevocably damage Mir’s longevity as a contender because key losses are valued more when the division doesn’t have the requisite depth to reestablish former champions with legitimate threats in the upper-echelon of the division like Antonio Silva, Sergei Kharitonov and Josh Barnett.

For Nelson, there’s not many prospects left at heavyweight although a chance to avenge a controversial loss to Andrei Arlovski allows him to have a contest relevant to his career while reinventing it by losing weight.

Browne appears incredibly promising to the heavyweight class thanks to his 6’7 frame and Alliance Training Center’s movement-oriented boxing. Good prospects like Shane Del Rosario and Daniel Cormier are legit counterparts that generate excitement for an up-and-comer like the Hawaiian. Instead, Browne can take a stern challenge from a grizzled guy like Mike Russow to raise his stock.

‘Cro Cop’ will get one more fight in the UFC

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic has a long, legendary career in MMA, and it's not over yet. According to UFC president Dana White, Cro Cop has another fight on his contract, and will be given a bout.

"I owe him another fight," White stated. "Do I think he should have retired? Yeah. He's a man; he's a grown man. If he wants to continue to fight, that's his right."

That's a change in tune from what White said after Filipovic's last fight, when he was knocked out by Brendan Schaub at UFC 128.

"I have all respect for Mirko 'Cro Cop,' but yeah, I'd have to say tonight is probably the last time we'll see 'Cro Cop' fight again."

In addition to the Schaub loss, Cro Cop was also knocked out by a Frank Mir knee late in their unimpressive UFC 119 bout. In his 10-year career, Filipovic has been knocked out four times. Two of those KOs have come in the past year. He also was submitted by a punch in a bout with Junior dos Santos, forcing plenty of damage on his 36-year-old body.

But now he will get another chance for another fight in the UFC.

UFC 130: Quinton Jackson and the Factors Affecting the Chances of a Finish

It takes two to tango in the ballroom, same number required to finish inside the octagon.

Before Quinton “Rampage” Jackson gets showered with more “tough love” regarding another decision win, this time over Matt Hamill last Saturday night—as if a decision victory comes in cheap nowadays and any fighter who fails to finish is unworthy of respect—here are the factors going for and against the much-coveted F.

The factors going for the the stoppage are attributed to the party intending to finish (in a perfect MMA world, it should be both contending fighters), of course. For this article, he shall be called “predator.”

Conversely, the factors going against the finish are ascribed to the survivor, whom I shall call “prey.”

Needless to mention, we know that all fighters assume the dual and opposite roles of prey and predator each time they step inside the octagon.

Was Mir’s performance lousy? White changes his tune

"Borderline embarrassing" were the words Dana White used to describe the Frank Mir-Roy Nelson fight at UFC 130. That was just moments after he watched a pair of 260 pounders lock horns and fight in closed space for most of the 15 minutes. Mir won the brawl via unanimous decision, 30-27, 30-2 and 30-26, but win didn't over everyone in attendance.

"It was a sloppy heavyweight fight," White said. "I'm not happy about the performance from either one of them. I thought it was borderline embarrassing."

It was the second straight fight where White expressed disappointment in Mir's performance.

At UFC 119, Mir was denied a knockout bonus despite producing the only KO finish of the night against Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic.

"If they were earlier in the card, it would be one thing. But when you're in the co-main or the main event, that's when you take the most criticism," White said. "I don't like every time bashing Frank Mir, but what are you going to do?"

"Frank Mir has been a two-time world champion. He's been around a long time. He's a super-talented guy. I expect more of him."

Mir wasn't at the postfight press conference. He was at the hospital having a broken jaw and possible fractured ribs tended to. Maybe that news changed White's mind a bit about the quality of the fight.

"I think I was a little harsh on Mir," White told MMAjunkie on Sunday. "He came into that fight with the perfect gameplan, and he nailed Roy with some big shots. Mir dominated that fight from start to finish, and he deserves some credit for that."

That doesn't mean he's backing off his criticism of Nelson, who White suggested needs to get down in the 240-pound range.

"I thought Roy looked terrible tonight," White said. "I thought it was terrible. I thought it was embarrassing. I have a meeting with him on Friday, and we'll see what happens."

Frankly, none of this "too fat" stuff should come as a surprise. The UFC has always worried about Nelson's slovenly appearance.

"Joe Silva was telling me to lose some weight and gain some muscle. He said I need the UFC look," Nelson told TAGG radio back in 2008.

Many fans freaked out at the time, but now it's clear that it's not a cosmetic thing. Nelson is a very skilled fighter, but he's hurting his chances to beat the best in the world by continuing to fight around 265 pounds. Should White go as far as giving Nelson an ultimatum?

MMA takes another step in N.Y. by passing again in the State Senate

MMA made strides again yesterday in New York as another bill passed through the state's senate. The N.Y. Senate voted 42-18 in favor of Bill S1707A and now it's head to the N.Y. State Assembly where it's consistently stalled in recent years.

Assemblyman Bob Reilly, D-Colonie, has led the charge in the past. The assembly session ends on June 20 with just 12 days of actual working time remaining.

It should be noted that the senate vote in favor of MMA in New York was stronger this time. In June of 2010, it only passed 32-26.

Sen. Joe Griffo, R-Rome, introduced S1707A yesterday.

"We made an attempt in the budget and it was taken out as the final agreement was put together," Griffo told the Albany Times-Union. "It's a good idea because the sport exists. It's a recognized sport, and it would generate economic activity and income for the state of New York, and allow New York State athletes to compete in their home state."

UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta was pleased with the outcome.

"It's time to bring the fastest growing sport in the world to New York. With every passing month, our sport gets more and more popular around the country and in New York," Fertitta said in a release. "We want to thank the State Senate, and we're confident that when Assembly members take an objective look at our safety record, our popularity with their constituents, and the economic benefits and jobs we would bring to the State, they will take the same action and UFC fans will finally be able to see live UFC events in their home state."

The UFC has bolstered its efforts recently in New York by holding two press conferences at Madison Square Garden and sending fighters to Albany on several occasions in 2011. UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones pitched in yesterday. New York is just one of six remaining states that don't allow MMA.

Wacky UFC 130 Photo of the Day: Johnson & Struve

How does it seem like they could exchange outfits and still not look one bit weird? Shout out to CagePotato blood brothers Heavy.com and Jeremy Botter, who snapped this shot of 5'3" Demetrious "Might Mouse" Johnson and 6'11'' Stefan "Skyscraper" Struve brohugging in the lead up for UFC 130. When Hollywood inevitably decides to reboot the Mad Max franchise -- and you know that those sons of whores in Hollywood will do it, sooner or later -- these two would hold down the part of Master Blaster. Beyonce will be Aunty Entity, of course, and Mad Max will be played by Mel Gibson. As soon as Miley Cyrus has a kid, it will be penciled in as the feral child. Oh shit, we just totally gave them an idea, didn't we? [RX]

Best Performance Of The Night: Travis Browne At UFC 130: "Rampage vs. Hamill"

It?s that time once again, fans and friends. Another major MMA event has come and gone, and it?s time for my unofficial ?Best Performance of the Night? award. Unfortunately, UFC 130: ?Rampage vs. Hamill? continues a trend that?s plagued the last few entries into ?BPOTN?. To summarize: it?s hard to pick the best performance from an underwhelming event. But in a sea of average-to-good fights, one stellar knockout rose up above all the rest. Here?s why Travis Browne took home ?Best Performance of the Night? for his utter devastation of Stefan Struve.

Let?s begin ?BPOTN? as we always do, fans and friends: by putting the situation into context.

Heading into this bout, Stefan ?Skyscraper? Struve was 3-1 in his four most-recent performances, and held an overall UFC record of 5-2. It?s true that Struve wasn?t a top-tier Heavyweight, but the same could be said of his opponent (more on him later). Fans of Struve could take solace in the fact that the only people to beat him in the UFC were Roy Nelson and Junior dos Santos, two very dangerous, very skilled fighters. Cynics of Struve loved to point out that both those losses came via first-round KO.

But when he was on, Stefan Struve was on. Even though he was a mountain of a man, Struve had done a good job of escaping being typecast as a ?freak show fighter?. His three-fight win-streak in 2009 proved that he had a lot of heart and grit, and also possessed some serious submission skills. His two-fight win-streak in 2010 proved that he had knockout power. Travis Browne was a threat, but Struve was in the process of pulling himself out of the mid-tier and this fight would have likely been his last mid-tier opponent.

But, as we all know, that opponent was Travis Browne. Browne made waves in his UFC debut when he defeated James McSweeney via first-round TKO, then he fought Cheick Kongo to a draw. Browne?s cynics kept harping on the fact that Kongo only lost because he was deducted a point for holding Browne?s shorts.

When the fight began, it became very apparent that the first Draw of his career weighed heavily on the mind of Travis Browne? but in the best kind of way: it motivated him to be the best fighter he possibly could be.

Struve and Browne would trade shots for much of the night, hitting each other solidly several times with both men not backing down. And just when it looked like the round was over, it happened: Browne nailed Stefan Struve right on the chin with a Superman Punch. The end result is that Struve was knocked out before he hit the ground, his body contorting mid-fall due to his massive size. A somewhat insightful (though mostly spiteful) fan on the internet recently remarked that Browne ?folded Struve up like an accordion?.

With this win, Travis Browne remains officially unbeaten in his Mixed Martial Arts career. Of his eleven wins, nine have been by (T)KO. Travis Browne has been to a decision only twice in twelve fights. His performance at UFC 130 definitely turned heads, and Browne has set himself up as a fresh new face in a division with a clearly-defined roster of top-level fighters. And that?s why Travis Browne gets ?Performance of the Night? for UFC 130.

UFC 130: Quinton Jackson and the Factors Affecting the Chances of a Finish

It takes two to tango in the ballroom, same number required to finish inside the octagon.

Before Quinton “Rampage” Jackson gets showered with more “tough love” regarding another decision win, this time over Matt Hamill last Saturday night–as if a decision victory comes in cheap nowadays and any fighter who fails to finish is unworthy of respect–here are the factors going for and against the much coveted F.

UFC turns down Vancouver’s request for extra police at UFC 131

The UFC broke down another barrier at UFC 115 by getting Vancouver to acquiesce and then regulate an event at Rogers Arena. The fastest selling event in UFC history drew 17,669, and by all accounts was a huge success. Now we find out, three weeks before UFC 131 returns to Vancouver, that there's still some resistance in city.

Tom Wright confirmed to MMAFighting that Vancouver P.D. asked the UFC to pay for extra security around the arena on the night of the event. Wright didn't see the need for extra policing.

"I spoke with the VPD [Thursday] and advised them that we would not be funding any 'expanded police presence' for community areas in the general vicinity of the Rogers Arena," the director of Canadian Operations wrote.

Residents thought UFC 115 brought a bad element to their area before and after the event.

Residents complained of public drinking, rowdy drunks and public urination before and after the UFC event. Chu and representatives of Rogers Arena have since met with the False Creek Residents' Association to discuss safety and security.

Aside from an increased police presence, portable toilets are expected to be placed outside Rogers Arena and along routes used by pedestrians to get to and from the venue.

Wright was quick to defend the sport and say it's no different than a hockey crowd.

"I explained that while we remain supportive of law enforcement in every city we bring shows to, we weren't prepared to be 'treated differently' than other events/concerts/shows (Canucks, Rolling Stones etc). This is a particularly important consideration when 'incidents' at UFC events are typically fewer than other big events. As I explained, if I were the Chief I'd be more worried about Canuck fans (celebrating or crying in their beers) than UFC fans."

Apparently, there's been buzz for the extra security since it came to light that two residents were attacked in the area near the arena. The two men arrested had attended UFC 115. Adding fuel to the fire, the victims were also gay and the suspects were accused of shouting homophobic slurs during the beatdown.

Are MMA crowds worse than hockey, boxing and football crowds? I've never seen an example.

Getting MMA to Vancouver was never an easy process for the UFC. Just weeks before UFC 116, the promotion nearly pulled the event because of an insurance squabble with local officials.

Ryan Couture video: Next gen Couture tries to build on family legacy

Ryan Couture is carrying the torch for his family now. The 28-year-old son of legendary Randy Couture is the only family member actively fighting. His father lost some teeth and his final fight at UFC 129. Couture, the former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champ, called it quits and has moved on to a career in movies.

RawVegas.tv tracked down Ryan to check on how he's doing in preparation for his third pro fight against Matt Ricehouse (4-0) at Strikeforce Challengers 16 in Kent, Wa.

Couture doesn't have a dominant skill like his father did, but because he started training in all aspects of MMA, he may actually be the more well-rounded fighter. There's a good chance he never reaches the heights his father did, but he's already off to an impressive start considering he only began working towards an MMA career in 2007.

Johnson pulls mild upset on Torres at UFC 130

LAS VEGAS - Demetrious Johnson continues to clash with bigger fighters in the bantamweight class and take them down with his non-stop approach. The 5-foot-3 Johnson made former WEC champ Miguel Torres his latest victim. Torres found himself on his back too often and lost a unanimous decision, 29-28 on all three cards.

Torres (39-4, 1-1 UFC) did a good job of moving and try to pick apart Johnson in the first, but became way too stationary in the final rounds.

Johnson (10-1, 2-0 UFC) scored multiple takedowns in the second and third. Torres worked for submissions, but more often than not MMA judges won't reward fighters for offense from the bottom. And the reality was, Johnson countered every Torres' move and stayed out of real trouble.

"It was a tough fight," Torres said. "He took me down and he just held me. I had a couple of submission attempts that gave me the chance to put him away. This was my fault tonight. He's slippery and he was able to get the takedowns. I just didn't take advantage when I should have."

Johnson said he thought the difference was controlling the pace and pushing forward in spite of what he thought was an injured leg.

"I thought I had a great game plan," Johnson said. "My goal was to kick his front leg, but at one point, he checked my kick and hit a soft spot (on my right leg). It really limited my mobility. My legs are my engine and he took that away from me. Fortunately, I was able to recover and secure good takedowns.

Torres, who raced out to a 37-1 start to his career, has now lost three of five. This was a costly loss for Torres, who was working toward a title shot or slot on a future "Ultimate Fighter" against the winner of the UFC 132's fight between Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber.

The 24-year-old Johnson has a bright future. Frankly, he should be fighting down at 125 pounds, but the UFC hasn't added the flyweight division yet. So for now, look out bantamweights and expect to go hard for at least 15 minutes against "Mighty Mouse."

‘The MMA Insiders’ audio: Roy Nelson talks feuds and Sonnen

Roy Nelson was in studio for ESPNRadio1100's "The MMA Insiders" show on Friday.

Nelson took part in the 10-minute "opening round." Adam Hill and Nelson covered the five big MMA stories of the week - ringside monitors for the judges, Brock Lesnar's illness/heavyweight division, Jon Jones' hand injury, WEC vs. UFC 155 pounders and the Chael Sonnen saga.

The Sonnen story took a twist later on Friday with California changing the date when he could re-apply for a license. Nelson stuck around for Part 2, and in Part 3, Jon Jones joined the show.

If you're in Las Vegas next week, "The MMA Insiders" will be live from the Thomas & Mack Center on Friday from 6-7 p.m. PT before the Tuff-N-Uff fight card.

If his kids stay out of trouble, ‘Rampage’ may retire at 35

Quinton Jackson doesn't want to be like Roy Jones Jr. and countless other boxers who fight because they have to financially. The former UFC light heavyweight champ always targeted 35 years old as the time to walk away. Jackson, 32, still believes that, but there are some uncontrollable factors that could change the plan.

"I have kids to look out for. I want to put some of my kids through college. I know some of my kids ... I'm gonna need lawyers fees for them," joked Jackson. "Y'all laughing but I know this!"

Jackson was in a good mood as he spoke during Wednesday's final press conference for UFC 130. In spite of the talk that he's not motivated for this fight, he seems to have a new outlook on his fighting career. Jackson has benefited greatly from being able to earn a healthy living.

"My parents were real poor and I want my mom to drive a nice car and have a nice house, and I want my dad to have the same. That's the thing that drives me to keep fighting so I can afford to keep doing those things," said Jackson.

Rampage is starting to realize he can lengthen his career by cleaning things up outside the cage. That could mean he fights past 35.

"When I used to fight in PRIDE, I was a single parent and I used to eat fast food all the time. I used have to cut 15 pounds every time before a fight. I really got sick of that over the years," Jackson said. "I'm sick and tired of that lifestyle, being real heavy."

Jackson knows it cost him a title shot earlier this year.

"I really regret getting real heavy after my November fight because I couldn't fight [Mauricio] "Shogun" [Rua] after Rashad [Evans] got injured. It was like a kick in the ass," said Jackson.

During Wednesday's presser, Jackson looked visibly thinner than before previous fights.

"I was really excited about getting in shape for this fight. When you look at yourself in the mirror and you're disgusted with yourself, and you're a professional athlete, that's bad," said Jackson.

Jackson faces Matt Hamill in the main event of UFC 130 on Saturday.

Stout interview: Lightweight sides with Maynard, says Gray will beat Pettis

Sam Stout is in Las Vegas prepping for his UFC 131 bout against Yves Edwards. One of the more dynamic strikers in the lightweight division, he needs to put together a winning streak to breakthrough into the UFC's top 10.

Stout looks at the division as the deepest in the world and tends to side with Gray Maynard, who said a few weeks ago that the UFC 155ers have faced better competition than those in the WEC.

With the help of RawVegas.tv, we spoke with Stout about who he thinks will come out the victor by the middle of 2012 and the brewing rivalry between lightweights from the WEC and UFC.

Seven fights to swoon for in the next six weeks

Starting on Saturday night, the MMA world will give fans six major events in six weeks before it takes a short summer break. Which fights will convince you to stay inside as the summer heats up?

Demetrious Johnson vs. Miguel Torres, UFC 130: I'll admit, I'm less than enthused about UFC 130. After injuries pulled Gray Maynard's championship rematch with Frankie Edgar, the card lost some luster, but I've also found that the cards I wasn't excited about have blown me away. This fight is exactly one of the bouts that will get me to change my mind. Though Torres has shown a more cautious style recently, he'll have to solve the problem of Johnson's wrestling. For Johnson, it's another chance to move up the UFC's bantamweight ladder against the former champion.

Clay Guida vs. Anthony Pettis, "The Ultimate Fighter" Finale: Pettis was promised a UFC title shot after winning the WEC strap, but those plans were put to the side when Maynard and Edgar fought to a draw. Now, he can take out his frustration with waiting on Clay Guida, who is just as eager to make Pettis feel unwelcome in the UFC.

Jon Olav Einemo vs. Dave Herman, UFC 131: Einemo's debut in the UFC is sure to turn heads. He can win on his feet, as a 6-foot-6 fighter who trains with the famed Golden Glory camp in Holland, or on the ground, as he won an ADCC submission wrestling world championship. His MMA career is limited, but it will be fun to see how he can put it all together in the Octagon this June.

Kenny Florian vs. Diego Nunes, UFC 131: The interesting part of this fight will come at weigh-ins, to see how Florian can handle the cut down to 145 lbs. after fighting at lightweight for years. Once he actually gets to the Octagon, Florian will face a tough test in Nunes, who is on a three-fight winning streak.

Gina Carano vs. Sarah D'Alelio, Strikeforce: The last time we saw Carano fight, she was being beat on by Strikeforce women's champ Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos. She's spent time working on her movie career. How will nearly two years of ring rust affect her?

Pat Barry vs. Cheick Kongo, UFC on Versus 4: One word comes to mind with this match-up: OWWWWW. Both fighters are capable of throwing painful, KO kicks. It will be interesting to see how the two defend each other, and how the massive height difference will come into play.

Dong Hyun Kim vs. Carlos Condit, UFC 132: I wish I had a well-thought-out reason why I'm so excited for this fight, but it's just that these two are capable of knocking people out. Hard. Kim hasn't had a KO win since UFC 84, but Condit has won his last two fights with a knockout and a TKO. I can't imagine this fight will go for three, full rounds.

These are the fights that are fight on my list. Which ones are you excited for? Tell us in the comments or on Facebook.

Dana White Once Again Unhappy With Frank Mir's Performance

LAS VEGAS - For the second straight fight, Dana White has a bone to pick with Frank Mir, and Roy Nelson this time, too.

Mir beat Roy Nelson by unanimous decision Saturday night at UFC 130 in a dominant performance that included several knees to Nelson's head and plenty of takedowns. In his last outing, at UFC 119 last September, Mir knocked out Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic in the third round with a knee to the head - and that performance also left White wanting more.

Both fights had the fans vocalizing their displeasure with a perceived lack of action, and after the post-fight press conference Saturday, White elaborated on his disappointment in Mir, in particular.

"I think this time, with the co-main event I was disappointed in both guys, not just in Frank," White said. "I was more disappointed in Frank on that last card, even though he ends up getting a knockout. Frank Mir is a two-time world champion, he's been around for a long time, he's a super talented guy, and I expect more of him."

White said at the post-fight press conference that Mir went to the hospital after the fight with a fractured jaw and fractured rib, though Mir's wife said on Twitter that Mir's jaw was not broken.

As far as Nelson goes, White said he has a meeting scheduled with the Season 10 winner of "The Ultimate Fighter" later this week - and wasn't sure what the future might hold for him. Nelson has lost back-to-back fights, both decisions. At UFC 117 in August, he took Junior dos Santos the distance - the first fighter to do that with the top heavyweight contender.

"We saw how durable and tough 'Big Country' is in the dos Santos fight," White said. "But at least in the dos Santos fight, it was action the whole fight."

White said disappointment in fights is nothing new - but when fighters are in one of the two lead positions carrying a pay-per-view, they should be ready to take the heat if their performances aren't up to his - and the fans' - standards.

"It's going to happen sometimes," White said. "If they were earlier in the card - but being in the main and co-main event is when you take the most criticism. When you're the co-main and the main event, you've got to go out there and look good. And when you don't? You're going to hear my opinion about it - and the fans and the media, I'm sure."

White said despite Mir's win, which gives him two straight, he is not currently in the running for heavyweight title consideration.
