Vladimir Matyushenko and Jason Brilz will meet at UFC 129 on Saturday, April 30 on a light heavyweight bout that will be part of the event's pay-per-view card.
Matyushenko, 40, has been involved in MMA for quite a while, making his debut in 1997 and since then running up a record of 25-5. Matyushenko, known as "The Janitor" is coming off a win over Alexandre Ferreira in his last fight.
Brilz, at 35 has been at the fight game since 2000, earning a record of 18-3-1.
This fight may not hold much interest to your average MMA fan, but it could prove to be an interesting battle as both of these fighters are getting near the end of their careers.
With that in mind, the loser of this fight may never again see their name linked to a UFC main card as younger fighters move up the ranks and claim the prime pay-per-view card spots.
The winner of this bout may not see a UFC title shot any time soon, but they may very well a fighter that the UFC can count on to test some of the rising stars as they move up to the ranks of the main card fighters.
Many fans and pundits will tell you that this fight is not an important one, but the two competitors involved would surely offer a differing opinion.
